Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship is to support and encourage committed young men entering college with their first-year housing costs.
Background:
Isaiah Banks was an amazing young man who loved his family, friends and high school football team. He was known as “Zay” and he was a member of the O-Line Norcross Football Team. He made a huge impact on his teammates and coaches by showing up first and always being ready to train, play and encourage others each and every day. He left this world on November 7, 2021 way too early due to a medical condition. This scholarship is designed to highlight those in the community that have Zay’s mindset.
Zay loved his family very much especially his mom and favorite cousin Devin. His dog Snoopy was also very important to him and brought him much joy. He loved having fun, laughing, and joking with his mom and friends. He was a good friend and a great son. He was respectful, displayed good manners and loved to eat. His favorite restaurant was Longhorn. He loved video games, music, and singing in the shower. He always showed up for his teammates and friends!

Guidelines:
One (1) Scholarship will be awarded annually. Announced in May and disbursed in August to the school that they are attending or their housing property. All payments will be made directly to housing.
Selection Criteria:
The winning recipient of “Zay’s Way” Scholarship will be selected based upon demonstration of superior scholastic achievement, strong leadership ability, involvement in the community or workforce, good writing and communication skills.
Amount:
The scholarship will be a one-time award of S1,000.

Zay's Way Form - The Rescue Crew
- A scholarship award of $1,000 is available for male Norcross High School students graduating in class of 2024.
- High school seniors at Norcross High School may apply if needing housing financial assistance.
* If a student has a scholarship covering housing costs, they should not apply. - Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 weighted GPA.
- Application Deadline is May 25, 2024.

Requirements:
- The applicant must be a Norcross high school senior providing certified proof of enrollment at a four-year accredited university with a need for housing assistance.
- Provide transcripts proving a cumulative minimum 3.0 weighted GPA.
- Demonstrate passion for education, community involvement, strong moral character, and leadership qualities.
- Complete Essay with a 500 word minimum to 1000 word maximum. Choose 1 Topic.
- Topic 1: How can you support a friend through a Win or a Loss?
- Topic 2: How can one person make a difference in someone else’s life?
- Topic 3: Who do you consider a hero in your life and tell me about that personal experience?
- Topic 4: How have you made a difference in someone's life?
